Recently refurbished, Calvary is a modern facility with contemporary team-based care and cutting edge technology. Calvary enjoys a reputation in the Canberra community for exemplary care. Services include a busy Emergency Department, an Intensive & Coronary Care Unit, Medical and Surgical wards, a Maternity Unit and a voluntary Psychiatric ward.
It is a modern healthcare service with its centrepiece being a 250-bed public general hospital that is a teaching hospital associated with The Australian Catholic University, the Australian National University and the University of Canberra.
The complex also has a co-located 95-bed private hospital and a 19-bed hospice - Clare Holland House - located a short distance away from the hospital campus in an idyllic setting on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin.
All services are operated by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary. Our Mission is to provide the highest standard of care and service to the people of Canberra and the surrounding districts.
The Little Company of Mary was founded by the Venerable Mary Potter, on an offer of hope and significance for the sick and dying. It is this hope and significance that permeates our health facilities and gives us the special atmosphere of peace and compassion. The company separately administers seven provinces around the world led by an elected Congregational Leader and Council residing in London. The Little Company of Mary Health Care comprises 26 health facilities situated across five states in Australia. Calvary Health Care ACT is one of these health facilities.
Calvary Public and Calvary Private Hospitals provide an extensive range of inpatient, ambulatory care and outreach facilities and services.
Calvary Health Care ACT is a not-for-profit hospital that provides public and private hospital services within the Australian Capital Territory. We employ more than 1,000 staff across all the services and manage 334 beds in the acute and sub-acute sectors.
Calvary Health Care ACT is situated in a beautiful bushland setting serving the community in the northern part of the ACT and surrounding areas.
