Clínica Alemana, located at Vitacura 5951, Santiago Chile, is a branch of a non-profit foundation, "Sociedad de Beneficencia Hospital Alemán", established in 1905.
The efforts of the German community at that time resulted in the opening of their first hospital located at Dávila Street, which was later sold to a bank workers´retirement fund ("Caja Bancaria de Pensiones").
This sale plus the valuable contribution of the German Evangelical Center for Development Assistance ("Evangelische Zentralstelle fur Entwicklungdhilfe"), made Hospitalthe construction of Clínica Alemana possible at its current site. The building was inaugurated in 1973.
