This is considered more of a palliative treatment that an eliminative one. A leather sleeve about eight inches in length is suitably placed on the head of the patient who is seated in an upright position. Kneaded dough line the inside of this sleeve to ensure it does not leak. Medicated oil is then poured into the sleeve and allowed to remain on the head for about 50 minutes. The length of time the oil should be kept there is determined by the severity of the disease
This treatment is prescribed for disorders like facial paralysis, deafness, cataract, ear ache, insomnia and other diseases that afflict the cranial nerves.
